🎅 God rest ye, merry Walter’s World…🎅
I’m back in Somerset now, but before I left London, I went to see the Marie Antoinette exhibition at the Victoria & Albert museum (V&A) with my friend Angela. It was awesome! A brilliant exhibition that I totally recommend.
They had amazing dresses and gorgeous examples of the fabrics and embroidery from the era, plus ‘scents’ of the times you could smell – one of which (the smell of the Bastille) was truly disgusting.
I’m a massive history buff, and this exhibition was brilliant for really bringing the doomed queen’s life into focus. On a side note, it’s a wonder those poor women could breathe in those tight stays!
Angela and I are both members of the V&A, so we met up first for a catch-up over tea and cake in the Members’ Room, which is beautiful – although the cake (mango, coconut and berry) was a bit meh.
